Today we collected little Lapis the royal python. We are unsure of her age, or her history, but she sure is in need of some TLC!
She is dehydrated, emaciated, and covered in mites. She has been treated for the mites and is in a quarantine completely separate to our centre so as to not put the other Critters at risk. The plan for now was tackling her mites and dehydration, then moving onto the feeding, however, after settling in for only three hours she has decided she is comfortable and wants food!.
The new plan is to feed her a small meal tomorrow morning (Saturday) and then a bath and mite treatment on Monday night! From there we will be able to keep an eye on her progress and keep you all updated. One small step at a time!
